About Taylor

Taylor has spent her life in Burke and Caldwell Counties. She was born and raised in Burke County and spent countless summers, weekends, and holidays at the family property on Wilson Creek in Caldwell County. As a graduate of East Burke High School, she chose to return home to raise a family and start her career.
Taylor's decision to focus on criminal law and become a prosecutor has been shaped by a strong sense of law and order and a genuine desire to serve the people. Upon graduation from University of South Carolina School of Law, she began her career as a prosecutor. Taylor consistently carries a superior court caseload of 400-500 cases and has prosecuted cases of drug trafficking, rape, felony assaults, DWIs, misdemeanors, and vehicular death. Taylor’s work as an Assistant District Attorney spans nearly every facet of the office — from leading district court and handling superior court cases to serving in Drug and Veteran’s Treatment Courts, Juvenile Court, and Infractions Court — all in two counties. This wide-ranging background has given Taylor the drive to serve as your District Attorney with a promise to be fearless, fair and focused while protecting our communities.
As a prosecutor, the wife of a law enforcement officer, and the mom of a high school senior, Taylor has both a personal and a professional desire to make Burke and Caldwell Counties the safest they can be.

As your District Attorney...
Taylor's goal as your District Attorney is to create a legal system that is accessible, fair, and firm. Here are some highlights of her priorities:

-
Community Education: Taylor believes in the power of knowledge. Every citizen should have the opportunity to be familiar with the roles and duties of the District Attorney. Through community outreach and partnerships, Taylor will facilitate a greater understanding of the responsibilities of the District Attorney's Office.
-
Prioritize Prosecution of Repeat Offenders: Victims of crime deserve justice. Prosecuting repeat offenders acknowledges the harm they cause and reinforces the message that criminal behavior will not be tolerated. Repeat offenders often pose a greater risk to public safety. By prosecuting them swiftly, effectively, and fully we can reduce the likelihood of continued criminal behavior.
-
Giving Victims a Voice: Taylor intends to empower victims and victims' families to participate and engage in the criminal justice process. The voice of victims is powerful, and should be at the forefront of prosecution.
-
Transparency and Accountability: A commitment to transparency is essential. Taylor will ensure that the office operates openly and honestly, allowing the community to understand decisions made and the reasons behind them.
